Mark Manteuffel has LE training and was a serial rapist much like the Norcal Rapist and JJD's EAR series. Manteuffel was different in some ways than the other two in his MO changed from heavy planning to opportunity type of attacks. The reason I bring him up with the other two is LE believes all three stopped their crime series on their own. My believe is all three stopped the actual sexual assaults or at least the MO they were using stopped but I still believe there were things all 3 did to satisfy the need to rape . I believe all 3 altered their behaviors out of fear of being caught by the progression of DNA processing. They all 3 were caught in the same way by LE.

1) May 5, 1992, 2) Jan. 11, 1994, 3) March 23, 1994, those are the known attack dates of Manteuffel. I find the gaps between the attacks troublesome although he was attending classes and working these types of offenders always find time to assault. We can look at his life and try to predict "stresses" that might cause him to attack and the 3 just don't seem like enough.

There are more attacks than just these. I have found a couple of cases in the late 1980's that fit his MO in and around Sacramento.
