Joe "Torchy" Torchia, the last of Sacramento's legendary great gamblers was found beaten and shot in the head in his Rancho Cordova home 9401 Folsom Blvd on January, 18,1970. It was believed there were at least two suspects who waited for Joe to return home. The suspects took $7000 worth of cash it being the receipts from the Buggy Whip restaurant located on Fulton Ave in Sacramento where Joe was the manager. Joe was found in the bathroom of his home he had been beaten and shot twice in the head and once in the chest. Joe had two black eyes and numerous cuts and abrasions on his arms and legs indicating a violent struggle that included bullet holes in the walls of the master bedroom.
This particular time frame Rancho Cordova was seeing a much higher number of business being robbed at gun point- Murderinc could most likely find the newspaper reports of this. I bring this up because there was an interesting arrest made of three teenagers with one being Edward Earl Hensen 18 years old. Hensen lived at 2663 El Segundo in Rancho Cordova. The arrest of the three cleared up 16 robberies between them but not the Torchy murder. I believe there is a connection to victim #6 there and in turn to EAR and JJD. Just to be clear I don't have Torchy connected to Hensen but rather an EAR connection and I needed to introduce Torchia murder for those of us who did not know about it.
I am writing this of memory so I might not have all the details in a straight line.

There are so many things JJD could have been responsible for. I don't know all of the details on this one.
