This is about the evening in November 1976, When Shelby and Sandy Carlson were partnered up and waiting for a search warrant for Pinkton mother's home. While they waited they drove around the Woodpark Drive and Dewey area when they came upon a man around 2200 hrs walking Northbound on Dewey. The man was passing a vacant field on Dewey, the man must have realized cop car and disappeared. Shelby being a patrol officer knows how to figure out where people go when they do the oh no its a cop and run. When he doubled back he saw a house on the corner turn their lights out, as if they had heard something and turned off their lights to look outside and the only person in the area is that man from the vacant field. Shelby ended up driving across the vacant field toward the stranger who had turned around and started walking back the way he was coming when Shelby first saw him. He walked straight ahead ignoring the cop car bashing through an open field toward him. Shelby said the man was 5'9 160lbs, late teens or early 20's, light brown hair, freshly cut hair, brown 3/4 length jacket, he was well dressed and walked with Military bearing in other words, straight backed ramrod straight. Shelby said he would remember if he ever saw a picture of this man again and he regrets not stopping him and going to the Art Pinkton Search warrant service. What do you think? was it him?

I do not see where a composite was ever done after Shelby's encounter. It makes no sense why one was not done.
