The article says "he often drew little circles to dot his letter I's." I saw the "Exorcist" letter again and those letter I's have little circles for the dots too. I know it is similar but doesn't clinch it for me enough. He switches from three stroke k's to cursive in his police reports and he does have check mark letter r's. The 91 'Scorpion letters to Walsh has mispellings and resembles the Belli letter but I think it is Zodiac whom sent it not JJDJ. Joe's writing looks more like the Danville papers. Do you guys know if he is Z or not? What about the cartoons in the Z letters? Graysmith is a cartoonist. Was Joe's 10 Oct. 1976 prank call report digitally altered to resemble Z writing? Or is the article alluding to Joe as Zodiac?

I have suspected that JJD would actually report for a shift, then leave early for an attack. I find it improbable that he would actually be available for calls while in Sacramento County and timely respond to a call. We can conjure up scenarios on how he pulled it off other than simply dating his reports fraudulently or even better yet, creating reports to cover his absence. “On-the-clock attack’s” could have been accomplished by using an unmarked vehicle to strike. This is why I believe his name could have come up as a suspect but he was quickly cleared by rudimentary inquiries such as checking dispatch logs. Remember! Graveyard shift dispatch was switched over to Placer Sheriff and Auburn PD offices were empty on grave shift allowing JJD more freedom to hide his tracks. Auburn California is actually two communities. The City Limits of Auburn and unincorporated Auburn known as “North Auburn” but still Auburn. Those police reports will be key evidence also if proven to be falsely fabricated.
