Yes! It’s true! This could be coming to an end. No trial, no PH and I know what I am feeling along with many others. He will never be executed but death row is a much slower death than General Population where he most likely will be assigned to a medical unit. Not so on death row. My wish would be for him to be tried for the two strongest cases and save money and let him rot. If he gets only life he will weasel his way into a medical classification that is considered “good time” in the prison system and that would be a slap in the face to the victims.

So, they’re trying to plea to the Sacramento charges? That would be the Maggiore murders — the charge there is no evidence for? Were these murders a drug cartel hit that the EAR may have been being framed for in the first place?
I wish that the other counties had provided public defenders. I hope that sac town hadn’t gotten up to their old games by discouraging other counties’ involvement.
They probably should have a preliminary hearing.

Always have to look ahead of the curve with this situation. This reptilian is at his best right now In twisting the system. He may succeed in dropping the charges in Sacramento(crimes committed here), because these are the weakest. The DNA evidenced crimes are the strongest and this is his angle. His offer to plea in Sacramento is rejected and the publicity of that prejudice would require trial elsewhere. Then years would pass before trial and he would be about 80 years of age. He would have several tools most specific insanity which, if used would be rejected by a jury. No matter what, after the fact insane convicted cannot be executed. Also, to the day he dies, or even after he will exert control over his victims. Joe is a pure reptilian in that he is purely reactive, not of high intelligence but more of a human coyote with instinctive reactions.
So, with that said, his recent filings provide a preview of things to come. The game is not to avoid the death penalty, the game is to control and right now he is doing just that!

Proceeding with the preliminary hearing, so those who wanted to testify can do so - should be part of the deal. Agreed. And those who wanted to give post-trial victim statements, should also be able to also. Again, should be part of the deal (or maybe it happens anyway, isn't negotiable.) Now for others who wanted to be heard but didn't want to testify in court, could they provide written statements to be read in court? Would Anne Marie Schubert be willing to read them? Maybe the DA's from the various jurisdictions for the crime in question would read them? Has that ever been done? Or maybe, traditionally, the judge reads them, not sure.

I’m speculating that he’s pleading to avoid investigation into organized crime connections. I wonder if it could connect all the way back to his father and perhaps, his wife’s father.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was all very similar to the Kuklinsky case.
