I do not have any immediate information but I do recall this one. It was directly across the street from Cordova High School in fact there are classrooms a little over 30 feet away from the scene. The assault also happened while school was in session. I also have a personal believe it was directly related to the drug dealing connection by the military Police unit stationed at Mather AFB.

It is coming back to me sometimes I have read things associated with an event and the memories will come back on a particular incident. |

There is an ancientfaces.com listing of a David Witmond who died at age 21, 1959-1980 - so if it's the same person, the crime happened in 1980. EDIT: of course, that year is in the title of this post which I, again, missed. Apologies, Murderinc.
