The first attack was on 10/21/75 when a mother and two daughters were assaulted by a man at Dawes and Dolecetto. This was on the Sheriff's list as am EAR attack but later removed for whatever unknown reason: most likely they thought his MO was slightly different. MY argument is he was brand new at assaulting and he was not prepared like he was in the later attacks. He was in the process of learning his roll, as he would think in his demented mind. He then took the time to learn how to inflict terror and how to cause pain to his victims.

That is true it was on the list at one time but there were differences in the attack MO. I know there were similar techniques but the victim stated their attacker was a black male: I know they later recanted and stated he was white. That in it's self is a problem there is a huge difference between a black male and the EAR. I don't know of any other case where he was thought to be black. I am taking in the account the victim"s were under extreme distress at the time and they may even have been interviewed improperly perhaps in the same room and one of them said black and the other followed suit. It is interesting the similar things this attacker did: your explanation does make sense if you take away the victim's statement of the assailant being black.

Yeah that part about race is a hard one to over come, even if victim did change their mind. Shelby did say he had that dog beating burglary where nothing was taken and the dog was killed, not sure if that was EAR. It's weird that the garage door was open when he returned and then the neighbor claiming bad guy was on their roof??? weird.

There's also the fact that Deangelo was working full time down in Exeter at the time, and there are some (unconfirmed) VR activities for Monday, October 21 and Tuesday October 21 of that year according the visaliaransacker.com (timeline link below). Not that it couldn't have been him, but it was a weekday, and you have to wonder what work schedule JJD was working by that time. Had he been made a burglary investigator by then, working Monday through Friday? Would he have been visiting relatives with his wife in the middle of a school semester? Would he have driven the 220 miles from Exeter to Rancho Cordova just to prowl? He could have, but I'd like to know more information about why he'd be up in Rancho Cordova midweek. visaliaransacker.com/timeline.phpEDIT: It looks like Nick started a thread for this very thing regarding the timeline problems, "VR and EAR timeline problems", here's a link to it for your convenience: earinranchocordova.freeforums.net/thread/64/vr-ear-timeline-problems

I believe there is enough compelling evidence to place JJD at all of the Rancho Cat incidents. The Rancho Cat did not just stop he evolved and his failure at what is called the Sarda Way incident it makes sense. The timeline for Cat crimes and the type of crimes they were fit perfectly into JJD being the suspect. The standing over victims while they sleep the prowling around the house while the victims slept etc.
