What do we know about the Stinky Rapist (SR) ? The offender is thought (by LE) to have committed at least 47 attacks in and around Berkeley and Oakland. The offender smelled like gasoline or more likely diesel along with the usual bad breathe and body order that comes from rapists in general. There was a task force and Berkeley PD Investigators claim a suspect was identified and the Alameda District Attorneys Office refused to prosecute due to insufficient evidence. This is another one of those LE claims of knowing who the suspect is but not able to prove it. I find this absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.
What else do we know?

We know that one of SR victims Carolyn Craven a television reporter was one of his victims and she wrote and talked about her experiences.

Carolyn Craven had reported on the SR attacks three times prior to herself being a victim. I believe this was a targeted attack and she was not just a coincidence. It seems SR was much like most known offenders and follow the media as they report on their crimes and it leads to Craven being attacked. SR crimes are another case where LE believes the offender stopped or was stopped due to death or incarnation but I'm not so sure. JJD was believed to have stopped but there is evidence to support him changing his MO and going back to his roots with prowling and stalking but not necessarily sexual assaulting but everything up to or perhaps the crimes were unreported.

When you apply for LE jobs in California one of the steps is psychological testing. I have taken a number of them throughout the years and the tests included a 1500 question test with repeating questions. One of the questions is something to the effect "I enjoy reading mechanics magazines" then you have to mark an answer with strongly agree or disagree (you get the idea) it has to do with known offenders and behaviors. There are a lot of questions on this standardized test like "I journal every day" or something along those lines. There are many questions that are worded differently over and over throughout the test. I could fill a thread posting about that test but I won't. It is interesting that JJD was a mechanic.
