Unless he had already killed(?) He sure could have and I will add nothing on him would surprise me. I have talked to a few people who claimed to be friends with JJD after high school and the time they went to college together. Old Joey was not some shy quiet type fly under the wire personally. I hear them say Joe is a loud talker and does surprising things and tries to get a rise out of people. I also hear he liked to show off and rode a motorcycle like a bat out of hell. But I also heard he was kinda strange or weird or maybe it was awkwardness in some situations but not everyday weird (whatever that means). Joe was a risk taker and he enjoyed it.
He also seems like a social person despite all of the time he spent alone.

I think I was expecting JJD to be a meek quiet guy with no friends and the more I did the less true that statement becomes. JJD could turn on the charm when he needed it and turn to stone when he played the sick game of rapist and murderer. I see a totally different guy now.

I'm quoting your same post twice to separate two lines of inquiry you inspired for me (and thanks.) Here goes: Were any of those friends close enough to remember times, perhaps during holidays or some other memorable occurrence - where they might be able to remember spending time with him on a particular date (for example, remembering being him, say, after he came back from the navy on a particular holiday, or near a particular holiday?) It would probably mean they remember some milestone in their own life that helps them pinpoint it. Not completely out of the question. Joe-before-navy, and Joe-after-navy memories would at least narrow down the time frame as to which set of years, say. Did Joe ever attend sporting events or other publicly notable events with any these friends? if someone could remember which local team, and perhaps the opponent, that's something that might be narrowed down. I will ask your questions and see what we get back.
