This is from one of my old posts on EAR copy cat.
I found a report of an attempted rape on Benito Drive in Rancho Cordova which is in the Coloma Estates development. This occurred on November 29, 1979, and the area is a few miles away down Coloma Road from the Rancho series of EAR crimes and is very close to the Ambassador Drive attack that was disputed and removed ( I happen to believe it was an EAR attack) from the official list by the Sheriff's Department. The attacker entered her Rancho Cordova home at 0240 hrs while she was sleeping on Thursday, November 29, 1979, through a locked window. The attacker fled when the children woke up and startled the attacker. He was seemingly caught off guard and fled. The victim worked at Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights.
So what do we have? EAR not too sure but an offender who had the skill to defeat a locked window and entering at that time of night a victim would be in a deep sleep and when things turned unexpected like (Children waking up) he abandons the attack and aborts it. Yes, It could have been any number of offenders but it's in the known attack location as well but just outside of it so it would be a new territory for EAR.

Hi nick, did you mean Benita drive? That would be in the area that I’m most interested in placing JJD in during that time. The area includes the locations of the botched 7/11 stakeout, attack #43, a home lived in by Detective Richard Shelby at some point and several experiences that I had had back then which I think involved JJD.

Yes, auto correct plays havoc on street names sometimes.
