The first know attack took place on June 18, 1976 on Paseo Drive in Rancho Cordova. The third attack occured on August 29, 1976 just two homes away from the first. The sixth attack on October 9, 1976 also very near the other two attacks. The eight attack on October 18, 1976, although victim was not raped it was near the others at Dawesand Malaga. The 15th attack occured on march 18,1977 on Benny Way also in Rancho near the others.

This first attack has to be very important, it means him crossing the line from petty burglary who stole women's underwear to a full on felon rapist. He had to be watching for quite sometime and most likely had been inside her home more then once. He knew she would be alone and when was the best time for the attack. The neighbor reported someone had been getting his backyard on a regular basis and he had nailed his gate shut only to find it had been forced open again and he never called the Sheriff.

He was from the area and hit so many times in that same neighborhood. I believe the important targets to him were #1 victim and #6 victim. The #6 victim I believe had great importance to him because I think he lived on her street or the street directly behind. I think the center of his attacks were El Segundo and that was his lair. It would explain who he was able to walk away from attack #3 naked below the waist and not been seen by LE responding to the area and why he was in no hurry. He only had a short walk home and could have been home in a matter of mins, it shows comfortable he was in the area, all that has been written on the subject of serial rapist/killers always suggest the offender will first attack in an area they know and feel comfortable offending, that's why Rancho Cordova is so important and this area of Paseo and surrounding parts are the key to his identity.

Maybe or he lived in the Carmichael area and rode his bike a lot as a kid. The river bike trail is right there and he could have known both sides of the river. Although he really liked that same Rancho neighborhood so much.

Attack #8 – Monday, October 18, 1976 in Rancho Cordova (95670) at 11:00 pm
Victims: “Julie Lowe” 19 year old receptionist at the Sacramento Army Depot. When just turning her car off in her driveway EAR wearing a mask reached through the open car window clamping his hand over her mouth and grabbed her head trying to pull her from the car. The victim attempted to struggle but stopped when he held a knife to her throat. He pulled her from the car and dragged her into her own backyard and tied her with the clothes line taken from her backyard. He then forced her into the backyard of the neighbors, she saw rags laid out on the grass and he used those to gag and blindfold her. He then whispered to her that if she moved "Blam, Blab, Blam". He then stole here car, she was able to untie herself with ease, for some reason he had not made the bindings that tight as he had in the past. It's believed a neighbor who would have normally been home by now was the intended victim. This was an example of the suspect not finding who he was looking for, and simply took the next target that came along. The victim is normally only home alone from 2300 hrs to 2330 hrs due to her father and brother arriving home at 2330 hrs. EAR seemed to know this since he took her car, it was located a few blocks away with her dog in good health in the trunk.
Physical Description: None given in ST
*Per Port's Information: Brown hair; Hazel eyes
Clothing & Implements Description: Gray Wool Mask Gloves Brown Desert Boots Knife White Cord
*She was tied and gagged; no rape; her car was stolen and recovered by LE the next day with her dog in the trunk and the keys missing.

Attack #9 – Wednesday, November 10, 1976; near Greenback Lane in Citrus Heights (95610) at 7:30 pm
Victims: “Kim Alcone” -age 16 Victim the victim was forced from her home into the backyard at first and then forced to walk the cement lined drainage ditch that paralleles Woodpark Way. EAR most likely explored this ditch quite a bit. Parents at hospital visiting their son, when they returned home at 2030 hrs that night the victim (their Daughter was gone). The victim was home alone in the den when she heard a loud noise in the living room. EAR entered the den wearing a leather hood and pointing a knife at her. EAR was wearing military fatigues, a coat and a leather hood with slits for eyes and mouth. He forced her outside into the backyard, she saw shoestrings hanging from the handlebars of her bicycle. Her hands were bound as she watched him replace the window screen he had removed from living room when he entered the home. He also had turned off lights and heater erasing all signs he had even been there. The only sign was a small round hole in the screen near the window lock. EAR forced her to walk westbound in the cement ditch
Physical Description: Bad Breath or Body Odor Pale legs, brown leg hair
*Per Port's Information: Brown hair; Brown eyes
Clothing & Implements Description: Leather Hood Gloves Gray Sweater Army Pants Black Square-Toed Boots Knife Black Shoelaces Small Flashlight small enough to fit inside his hand and put off a beam about 6 inches in diameter.
*No rape. He seemed to expect her to be a specific American River College student and confused that she wasn't. His target may actually have been Kim's neighbor.
